Michael Massey, DO, is ABMS Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine and Brain Injury Medicine. He has extensive clinical and research experience in the field of Neurosciences, particularly Pain Medicine. Dr. Massey is a reviewer for the Spine Journal and a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS) Coverage Committee co-authoring multiple coverage recommendations. He is an expert on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) authoring a book chapter in the 5th edition of Bonica’s Management of Pain and other articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a founding member of the International Research Consortium for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Dr. Massey has spoken at many conferences and trainings on Pain Medicine. He was the Founding Medical Director of CentraCare Neurosciences Pain Center in Central Minnesota for five years. He served as Medical Director of Tampa Bay Orthopedic Surgery Group for two years. He is currently the founder and CEO of Gulf Coast PainCare, a comprehensive pain management practice that serves the Gulf Coast Communities.

Along with his clinical practice and research, Dr. Massey is a Certified Physician Life Care Planner. He has drafted several Physician Life Care Plans and also provides chart review services. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Life Care Planners and the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP). Dr. Massey serves on the IARP – Florida Chapter Board as the Training and Education Chair.
